EXCELLENCE IN ACADEMICS

EXAM EXEMPTIONS


A student with an average of at least 80 may be exempt from their semester exam provided they also meet the following criteria:


· The student has no more than 5 absences.


· The student has no more than THREE tardies to a single class.


· The student has not violated the Honor Code (Academic Dishonesty).


· The student has NOT served Out of School Suspension.


· The student has not violated the following rules for the fourth time (warning will equal first violation): Dress Code, Cell Phone, 2-Second Rule, No Agenda.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION


· Exempt students do not need to be on campus during the exam periods for which they are exempt. 


· Exempt students must return the signed permission form in order to stay home, arrive late, or leave early on exam days.


· Students will receive the exemption form in class on Wednesday, December 14.

EXCELLENCE IN ATHLETICS

BASKETBALL

Over Thanksgiving Break, the Girls Basketball team won the Jefferson Tipoff Classic with a record of 3-0. The Boys team played in the Jared Cook Classic at North Gwinnett and went 1-2, with a great win over defending state champions, Grovetown HS. Please come support the Wolves Basketball teams at Buford Arena this year. Home games start December 13.

SWIMMING

The Buford Swim Team is off to a great start! At the most recent meet, Buford placed first in 19 events, and won with a combined score of 505. Congratulations to Ben Irwin on achieving a new school record in the 500 Freestyle with a time of 4:41.44. The next swim meet will be December 9th at Collins Hill Aquatic Center at 7:20pm against Lanier and Dacula.

EXCELLENCE IN THE ARTS

Please join us on Sunday, December 4, at 4:00pm at the Buford High School PAC for a joint concert with the Buford Band and the Atlanta Wind Symphony.


Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

Arrive early to hear The Atlanta Wind Symphony Clarinet Choir performing holiday selections in the lobby prior to the concert. The bands will be collecting new, unwrapped toys to donate to Toys for Tots. 

We hope you can join us Thursday, December 8, at Buford Arena at 7:00pm for our Annual Holiday Concert featuring our Chorus, Band, Orchestra & Dance Departments! We appreciate your support of Excellence in the Arts.

ELF JR. THE MUSICAL

We hope you can come experience some Christmas cheer with Buddy, a young orphan, who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. This is a show for children and adults of all ages at the Buford HS PAC. Children should arrive early for free coloring before the show!

PURCHASE A YEARBOOK 


Yearbooks can be purchased for $100 though February 24. The price will increase on February 25, and the last date to purchase a yearbook is March 10.
