Oliver Byrne's Elements of Euclid

Originally written in 300 BC by Euclid and updated with coloured diagrams and symbols in 1847 by Oliver Byrne, this newly published version of Elements by Art Meets Science is both beautiful and instructional. Euclid laid the foundation for geometry, number theory, and many core concepts of math and logic still used today.

The book consists of the first six books of Euclid's 13, with each book covering a different area of geometry (Basic plane geometry, geometric algebra, circles and angles, regular polygons, ratios and proportions and geometric proportions)

In addition to the colorful illustrations, the book also includes detailed explanations of Euclid's proofs and postulates.

Math Milestones

What should students know at each grade level?

Math Milestones is an initiative of Student Achievement Partners founded by Jason Zimba, John W. Staley, and Elizabeth Meier. "Math Milestones™ shows the mathematics of each grade level (K-8) as a set of tasks that fit on one page. Standards and textbooks are dense and extensive, but teachers and students can see the Milestones all at once."
