Get College Credit with CLEP
Modern States Education Alliance™ is a "non-profit dedicated to making a high quality college education free of cost and accessible to any person who seeks one.". Modern States partners with high schools to help students earn college credits with the College Level Examination Program (CLEP). I found out about this program from Chalkbeat's article "You've Heard of AP Exams, Why Not CLEP?".
CLEP was originally "created in 1967 as a way for adult students and military service members to earn degrees inexpensively while also being able to meet work and family responsibilities." but is now also helping younger students!
There are 34 CLEP exams spanning all content areas including College Mathematics, Precalculus and Calculus.
CLEP Exam Guides are available for download at $10 each
Continuing the Journey
NCTM, NCSM and ASSM have jointly released this document which "provides leaders and teachers considerations, questions and potential solutions to address challenges revealed by the COVID-19 pandemic" as "This is our time to humanize mathematics by creating greater opportunities to learn for all students and ensure that all students have access to grade-level content."

In Memory of Algebra Project Founder
Bob Moses
Algebra Project founder Bob Moses passed away July 25th at age 86. He was a civil rights activist who used Math literacy as a platform.
"Math literacy is the key to 21st century citizenship." is the slogan of the Algebra Project that "uses mathematics literacy as an organizing tool to guarantee quality public school education for all children in the United States of America.
"His transition to that higher level only inspires us all to love, struggle and live with and for our people as he did, as we continue to work to realize Bob’s vision of “raising the floor of mathematics literacy” for all young people in the United States of America."
