At some point, all of us have to ask a deeper question:

Am I only building something for myself, or am I building something that will outlive me?

Here's what the Bible says:

Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (NKJV) These words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children…

This passage reminds us that faith was never meant to stop with one person or one generation. What God places in us is meant to be lived, shared, taught, and passed on.

That does not only apply to parents, pastors, or people with official titles. It applies to all of us.

Someone is watching how you live. Someone is learning from your example. Someone may be strengthened by your testimony, your consistency, your kindness, your faith, or even the lessons you learned the hard way.

Legacy is not just what people remember after we are gone. Legacy is what we intentionally pour into others while we are here.

You may not think your life is making a big impact, but do not underestimate what God can do through simple faithfulness. A conversation can plant a seed. An encouraging word can strengthen someone’s heart. A shared testimony can help someone keep going. A life of obedience can show someone what trusting God looks like.

The goal is not to be impressive.

The goal is to be faithful.

So build people. Encourage people. Pray for people. Share what God has taught you. Make room for someone else to grow.

Because the greatest things we build are not always platforms, programs, businesses, ministries, or accomplishments.

Sometimes the greatest thing we build is faith in the heart of another person.

What am I intentionally pouring into others that can outlive me?

Encourage one person this week.

Send a text, make a call, or speak life into someone who needs it.

Share one lesson God has taught you.

Don't wait until you have it all together. Your experience may help someone else.

Pray for someone coming behind you.

Ask God to strengthen, guide, and use them.

Choose faithfulness over visibility.

Remember that quiet investments can still produce lasting fruit.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You for the life, lessons, and influence You have given me. Help me to use what You have placed in me to encourage and strengthen others. Teach me to build beyond myself. Show me who needs my prayers, my wisdom, my testimony, or my support. Let my life leave seeds of faith, hope, and love in the hearts of others. Help me build what outlives me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The most lasting thing you build may be what you pour into someone else.
