T he Somerville Community Corporation (SCC) is happy to announce some new additions to our Asset Building class schedule this spring!

Saturday First-Time Homebuyer Class

Online First-Time Homebuyer Class

Morning Financial Education Seminar

For the first time ever, we'll be offering a Saturday edition of our First-Time Homebuyer Class (FTHB) schedule. This is not replacing, but adding an additional option to our regular week-night classes.

Saturday Series - June 6 & 13th
Our first Saturday FTHB class series will be held on  June 6th and 13th from 9am-3pm.  Pre-registration is required and participants must attend both days in order to successfully complete the course.

You'll learn everything you need to know before you start the process of buying your first home, gaining expertise from trained SCC staff and professionals in the field.

Not for you?  Join us for one of our regular 4 week-night classes, beginning on  March 17th, April 21st, May 20th, or June 22nd.

Online Course

Kicking off in the fall of 2014, SCC is now offering an online homebuyer training called The Road Home. You can take the course at your convenience and in the comfort of your own home, but you will be required to attend one 2-hour in-person session, held monthly, at SCC. Course registration is $100.

For more information about all of our FTHB class offerings, including class schedules, requirements and in person-sessions, please visit our website.

In another effort to expand our reach, we will be holding a morning series of our Financial Literacy seminar for those who are unable to make our evening classes.

Morning Session - Beginning June 3rd

Our first morning session will run from June 3rd - 24th (Weds & Thurs), from 9:15am-Noon.

Participants will gain important information and skills to help them navigate their financial lives more successfully. After successful completion of the course, including attending all 7 class sessions and 2 individual counseling sessions with SCC staff, graduates will receive a $200 stipend to get them started on a successful financial path!

Not for you? Join us for our regular evening series. Our next session begins on April 1st.
