they are easy.”

I truly hope you're able to make the best of this new year. I chose the above photo because the boat name is a good reminder. It's good to look on the bright side and be thankful for what we have and to remember what is really important.

There are several articles written by our builders and we really appreciate them taking the time to share their experiences in building a boat with us all. And, VanllTug even included some helpful instructions on posting photos in your blog or gallery. Thank you to all!

Enjoy your newsletter and as always, let me know if you have any questions.
Customer Feedback...

I want you to know that I'm having an absolutely wonderful time building my Audeen. It's a getaway right at home. I have a feeling that I will build another boat when she is completed.

Received the 'Two Plus package' a few days ago here in West Wales, UK.

As a shipwright of the 1950's, I look forward to a brand-new method (for me) of boatbuilding.

Not sure when I will start as I'm just finishing a lobster boat ... and at 83 I'm starting to slow down a bit. Stay safe in these strange times.

Best Wishes,

Hi, thanks for this (email), I just turned 75 and about to embark on a life long dream…. Build a boat. Paul
Important Message About Glen-L Epoxy
Hopefully, you received my email about our epoxy but just in case, I will reiterate. We are discontinuing our Poxy Shield and Poxy-Grip epoxies. We only have the quart kits of our Poxy-Grip available and only hardener for our Poxy Shield.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We made the decision that offering multiple types of epoxy was a bit confusing and expensive to stock. So, we are only offering SystemThree epoxy. This is their business and has been for many years. They offer excellent products and service and cater to the boatbuilding community.

We don't have all of our Fiberglass and Stitch & Glue Kits updated to SystemThree yet, so if you order a kit online and it still states that it contains our epoxy, I will send you an email with the updated kit contents and pricing. Thank you so much for your understanding.

OK all, it has been some time since the last update, but there have been extenuating circumstances. Most of them centered around the need for a bigger building space. To be more exact, a taller, wider, and longer building to finish some of the needed work. The new housing for this build is 42′ long, 16′ wide, and most importantly, 14′-2″ tall at the peak. This does not include the needed height for the pylon. It would have needed a space 14′-6″ and several hundred dollars of additional side extensions to make happen.
This custom kit was developed using Glen-L Zip plans by Mark Molden of Benchmark Products in California. His precision CNC cut complete wood kit allows you to begin assembling your boat the minute you unpack tracing, measuring or cutting needed! See our site for details!

"Through my detailed receipts, I spent about $2200 on wood for my Zip 10 years ago and it wasn't CNC cut to fit!!! Great price point, it really makes sense to just buy the kit at this price. " - Chris Atwood

The very first ZipKit purchaser has documented building his Zip utilizing the kit and with photos and details about the build on our Forum here. He estimates that he's saved about 30% - 40% of building time by using the kit! And, he has even launched his completed boat!
This year Melissa and I along with our son Wayne decided to go on a new adventure in our Glen-L Amp Eater, “Aquatron“. We registered to be a participant in the Wye Island Challenge Electric Boat Marathon which took place on Friday, 2 October. The 24-mile course begins at the Miles River Yacht Club at the mouth of the Miles River where it empties into the Chesapeake Bay.
We carry a Fastening Kit for each of our designs that contains all the nails and screws to build your Glen-L wood boat and you can find that kit through the alphabetical listing of our online catalog here. Plus, we also have silicon bronze screws, ring shank bronze nails, stainless steel fastenings, carriage bolts and beauty (finish) washers too.
When you build a wood boat, spend hours making the wood look just right, how about a nice finishing touch, a hand crafted wood cleat?
Glen-L Marine is pleased to offer electrical plans for the amateur boat builder from Ed Scott of Bayside Marine Design. These plans are fully detailed and can be used in a variety of boat building projects. All you need to do is match the length of your boat to an Electrical Plan size and you'll be able to wire your new boat, re-wire an existing boat or add new equipment.
