President's Corner:  BuildFW, It's all in the Name!
John Hernandez

This month, FWHCC will host BuildFW, our inaugural construction expo. The good news is that Fort Worth is growing and there seems to be construction projects everywhere. The not so good news is there doesn't seem be enough contractors to fill the need.

For several years, FWHCC and others have assisted contractors and professional services in obtaining their coveted MWBE certifications and have introduced those firms to opportunities with our partners at The City of Fort Worth, Dickies Arena and FWISD, just to name a few. However, the shortfall that we keep uncovering is the participation level of Fort Worth and Tarrant County based construction firms.

BuildFW will focus on bringing both private and public projects to light, highlight new and growing construction firms and share valuable information about pursuing great Fort Worth opportunities. We are happy to help any and all but it would be awesome have Fort Worth and Tarrant County companies building Fort Worth.  There is still time to sign up. See you there! REGISTER NOW
