BABY CHANGING TABLES
The association provided input to Clark County on a new county requirement, based on Assembly Bill 241, which requires a baby changing table in any permanent building or facility, which will be used by the public, and contains at least a public restroom. HOMEAID SOUTHERN NEVADA UPDATE
|
More than 150 SNHBA members and special guests attended the Inaugural "Building Hope" Breakfast at Wynn Las Vegas.
|
Inaugural "Building Hope Breakfast" A Success!
SNHBA and its HomeAid Southern Nevada chapter thank and salute all those involved in the success of the Inaugural "Building Hope" Breakfast on September 19 at the Wynn Las Vegas' Petrus Ballroom.
The event was a celebration of all the chapter has done to make a positive difference for the homeless population - and a look ahead to ways the chapter can do more. Approximately $23,000 was raised to benefit the chapter's continuing efforts.
Longtime SNHBA board member Tom Warden of The Howard Hughes Corp., served as emcee at the meeting. Speakers told inspirational stories about the chapter's work in the community and how the HomeAid Southern Nevada team of staff, volunteers and supporters are improving conditions for the homeless and near-homeless in the area. The speakers were Shalimar Cabrera of U.S. VETS and Jackie Lizaola of the Project 150 Youth Council.
The contributing sponsors were Guild Mortgage, Pardee Homes, Patriot Contractors, Sierra Air Conditioning, Southwest Gas Corp., Wells Cargo and Woodside Homes. Matching donors were Colliers International's Links for Life, Hirschi Masonry, and Ticor Title of Nevada.
Much of the success must be attributed to the efforts of the special "Building Hope" Breakfast Committee, which included incoming chapter president Amy Thill of Warmington Residential, Stephenie Ireland Heagerty of Boral Roofing, Jodi Grover of Ticor Title, Tyson Clayton of Desert Companies, event planner Darby Fitzpatrick Reber of Open Invitation, Darren Wilson of Sierra Air Conditioning and Rocky Cochran of Pardee Homes. Special thanks go to Cathy Vo of the B&P Advertising Media Public Relations agency, professional photographer Jim Laurie, and SNHBA staffers Holly Nostro and Alexis Hayborn.

During last year's campaign, supporters contributed more than $3,000 in cash and $2,500 in food and hygiene supplies, which were given to two outstanding local groups that assist the homeless - Serving Hope Las Vegas and U.S. VETS Las Vegas. Additional details about this year's campaign will be available in October.
