Frank Carone , Executive Partner at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara, Wolf & Carone, LLP. , was recently appointed Chair of the Committee on Transportation Law for the New York State Bar Association. The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) is a voluntary bar association for the state of New York which aims to cultivate the science of jurisprudence; to promote reform in the law; to facilitate the administration of justice, and to elevate the standards of integrity, honor, professional skill, and courtesy in the legal profession.

On Wednesday, December 6, Professional Women in Construction will hosts its Annual Holiday Party at Bryant Park Grill. The event will celebrate PWC's 20 Under 40 Outstanding Professional Women in the Construction Industry for 2017.

Acclaimed structural engineering firm, Leslie E. Robertson Associates (LERA) , is pleased to announce that their entry for the 25th Anniversary of Canstruction New York, titled “A Rising Tide,” was named Best Original Design (formerly Jurors’ Favorite) at the Canstruction Awards Gala on Monday, November 6th at Battery Gardens Restaurant. This is the top prize in the competition.

Canstruction is an international charity competition where architects, engineers, contractors and students compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from unopened cans of food, which are then donated to local food banks.

The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation has awarded six college students—Carlene Chow, Kathryn Eckhoff, Hayley Proctor, Siwei Ma, Michael Aronson, and Crystal Mason—with scholarships and research fellowships for use during the 2017-18 academic year.  

The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation, a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization established in February 2008, is focused on funding fellowships, scholarships and internships for undergraduate students and those planning to pursue graduate studies in building engineering, design or technology.
