In October, our Creators will be working on book handling skills and the importance of taking care of our classroom books. They will also be discovering everything Fall brings such as, pumpkins, leaves, apples, Halloween and even farm animals. October sure is a busy time of year.

Our creators have really settled in and are becoming more comfortable with the classroom routine each day. They will continue working on building friendships, and solving problems as they learn more about how their actions affect their friends.

INNOVATORS NEWS (4-5yrs.)

What we're learning:

In October, our Innovators will be starting to learn to write the letters in their name. We start with these letters as these are the most important letters to each child.

As some of you may know, it takes a lot of muscle in our hands to be able to write and hold a pencil correctly. We build these muscles ( also knows as, Fine Motor Skills) by playing with manipulatives (small blocks, playdough, beading necklaces, etc.) This month we will be doing this and many other fun science, math, art and sensory experiences around apples, pumpkins, Halloween, and leaves.

Innovator Reminders:

  • Please sign your child in and out daily and remember to send them to school with a jacket.

  • 10/31- Halloween Celebration. More information to come.

  • Nightly Reading Log: color one pumpkin for each 5-10 minutes that you read together with your child. Return this log at the end of the month and get a sticker.

  • Scholastic Books: please be on the look out for the book flyer from your teacher. Use the class code to order online. Books will be delivered to your child's classroom.

  • Please see our illness policy here.
