The kids in our shelter have an additional creative outlet in Des Moines thanks to
Community Support Advocates. A highlight of their shelter stay has been visiting
Momentum Art Studio, where they work on projects like printmaking and marble paint pouring.
"Though Momentum Art Studio mostly helps adults with disabilities, we started branching out to kids," explains Kelsey Kleinow, Momentum Program Coordinator, "we wanted to give these kids the opportunity to connect and share their experiences with people who understand."
Art can be such a powerful outlet for our kids, and serves as a tool that can build confidence. We are so inspired by CSA's work and so grateful that our kids have a safe space and creative outlet in the community.
