Virtual Meet & Greet for professionals working with children & families
Wed., Oct. 20 | 8:30 – 10:30 am
Connect with other professionals from organizations serving children and families throughout Skagit County! Put on by the Children’s Council of Skagit County and Skagit County Child & Family Consortium, the Meet & Greet is a structured event that allows each participant to share a brief overview (2-3 minutes) of their organization and programs during rotating Zoom breakout rooms!

Firearms Safety Training (FREE)
Thurs., Oct. 21 | 6 – 8 pm
This webinar is an overview of firearms safety, including how to prevent firearms suicide - the leading type of firearm fatality The online training is open to all, and especially important for new or inexperienced firearms owners, people returning to firearms ownership after an absence, or anyone else who wishes to attend a refresher course. A certificate of attendance can be provided upon request to meet the requirements of Initiative 1639. Anyone in Skagit, Whatcom, Island, San Juan, or Snohomish County can participate at no cost. Question, Persuade, Refer - Suicide Prevention Class

QPR is a FREE suicide prevention training for anyone age 16+. Together, we can prevent suicide. Learn how to recognize the warning signs and apply QPR to save a life. Please join us!

Babysitting Safety Course
Sat., Nov. 13 | 9 am - 4 pm
This in-person class will be held on the hospital campus in Sedro-Woolley
The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course provides youth who are planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for children and infants safely and responsibly. A mix of presentations and activities makes this course engaging, informative, and fun! The in-person class takes place over 7 hours (including lunch and breaks). 
Please note that all participants must wear masks, and class size is limited to 8.
Cost: $80 (a discounted rate is available for income-eligible households).

Adult and Infant CPR, AED, and First Aid
or 1 – 3 pm
Classes will be held on the hospital campus in Sedro-Woolley
Do you want to learn essential lifesaving skills? Need to renew your CPR certification? Anyone can sign up for one of the affordable courses taught by our Red Cross certified instructor. Blended courses allow you to learn online at your own pace before practicing your skills in a two hour in-person session.

Including a rainbow of produce in your diet can help prevent and even reverse certain chronic health conditions. But buying fresh fruits and vegetables isn’t always within reach for many individuals and families.

The FVRx program helps eligible participants buy, prepare, and eat more produce! For a full year, participants can receive up to $150 per month in bucks redeemable for herbs, veggies, and fruits at retailers across Skagit. Monthly visits with a health professional support each participant with additional resources, recipes, and nutrition information.

Take Back Your Meds - Saturday, Oct. 23rd
It’s that time again! National Drug Take Back Day events are happening Saturday, October 23rd across Skagit County. Locations in Burlington, La Conner, Mount Vernon and Sedro-Woolley will be accepting unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications from 10 am – 2 pm. A Prescription for Wellbeing
This fall, Skagit Nature Rx offers you a chance to soak up the changing seasons during hour-long group nature walks! Join walk leaders and other adults interested in experiencing the benefits of gentle outdoor movement and the stress-busting effects of time in nature. The current four walk series with adults 55+ began October 14th.
