APRIL HIGHLIGHTS

Izabel St Construction Update

Roofing has been completed on our 11 new affordable apartments, marking an exciting milestone as the project moves closer to welcoming future residents home. These homes will expand access to safe, stable, and affordable housing for low-income households in Flagstaff.

Welcome Leonardo

We are excited to share that Leonardo Chavez has recently joined Housing Solutions as a Housing Case Manager. He shared the following about his journey to our organization:

“I’m excited to join Housing Solutions as a Housing Case Manager. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Northern Arizona University and am passionate about supporting individuals and families as they work toward stability and achieving their personal goals. I was raised along the Mexico–California border, an experience that shaped my perspective and strengthened my commitment to serving diverse communities. I enjoy connecting with people, listening to their stories, and helping them access the resources they need to succeed.”

HOUSING SOLUTIONS' APRIL IMPACT

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING

JoJo's Place

Last month, 4 households experiencing homelessness moved into furnished studio apartments at JoJo’s Place. JoJo’s Place staff also celebrated a meaningful milestone as one resident qualified for and moved into a Housing Solutions' permanent affordable rental—marking an exciting step forward on their housing journey and highlighting our vision that "All residents will have access to safe, decent and affordable housing with an opportunity for upward mobility."

Sharon Manor

Our Sharon Manor community enjoyed a joyful Easter celebration, complete with a fun egg hunt for the kids and a shared meal together. Moments like these help build strong, healthy relationships—an important part of the healing journey—and it’s always meaningful to see residents and staff showing up for one another.

LOW-INCOME RENTALS

Flagstaff Rentals

Last month, 25 low-income Flagstaff families were able to stay stably and affordably housed through our house and condo rentals, providing safety, security, and long-term stability via permanently affordable rental opportunities.

Oak Wash Homes

At our Oak Wash Homes rentals in Cottonwood, 29 formerly homeless households are paying affordable rent—helping create stability, support better health, and open the door to new beginnings.

WORKFORCE HOUSING

Western Hills Apartments

6 of the 29 new workforce-attainable rentals at our Western Hills Apartments have been leased, with 13 additional spoken for! We’re thrilled to offer homes designed to help Flagstaff’s middle-income earners stay local—with the opportunity to not just survive, but thrive.

We still have studios available—click below to learn more and share these details with a friend who may qualify.

HOMEOWNERSHIP ASSISTANCE

First Time Homebuyers

In March, 2 northern Arizona households became first-time homeowner thanks to down payment assistance through our pre-purchase program! Safe, stable, affordable housing is a foundation for health and strong communities, and we're honored to help make that possible.

GRATITUDE

Support from St. Mary's Food Bank

We are grateful to St. Mary’s Food Bank for their support of our JoJo’s Place transitional housing program. Their recent grant will help sustain our on-site food pantry, strengthening food access for residents and supporting overall stability as households work toward securing permanent housing.
