National Homelessness Awareness Month
Standing Together for Change
| | | |
November is National Homelessness Awareness Month, a time to acknowledge the resilience of people experiencing homelessness and the communities that support them. At Valley Oasis, we honor the stories of courage, perseverance, and hope, from youth finding their first safe home to adults rebuilding their lives, and the partners who make
this work possible.
| | | |
Through collaboration with local agencies, outreach teams, and caring volunteers, we continue to provide essential services, advocacy, and support for those experiencing housing insecurity in the Antelope Valley.
This month, we invite you to join us in standing together for change by contributing to our Blanket Drive, helping provide warmth and comfort to those in need. Every donation is a way to stand alongside our neighbors and show that no one has to face homelessness alone.
Every story matters. Every life counts.
ο»ΏAnd together, we can make a difference.

Inside and Out: Your Housing Navigation Singles Team Is With You Every Step
At Valley Oasis, the Housing Navigation Singles Team knows that the path to stable housing isn't just about finding a place to live; it's about the emotions behind it: stress, uncertainty, fear, sadness, and even the hidden struggles no one talks about.
This year, our team leaned into the Inside Out Theme: π Anger, πDisgust, π’Sadness, π¨Fear, π°Anxiety, π³οΈDeep Dark Secret -and yes, sometimes Joy has to step aside when survival takes over.
| | | |
We do this to show: we see you, and we see it all. Housing insecurity is emotional, and every feeling you have is valid. We're here for the frustration, the fear, the sadness, and even the parts you keep hidden.
But we also hold space for hope, resilience, and joy - whenever it's ready to return. We're not just here to help you get housed; we're here to walk with you, listen, and support your journey from the inside out. Because you are not alone and you never have to carry it all by yourself.

National Youth Homelessness Awareness Month
A Story of Resilience and Hope
| | | | | |
In the summer of 2024, a 22-year-old found themselves living out of their car in Lancaster after a family conflict left them without a place to stay.
Despite the uncertainty, they kept working and holding onto hope for a better future.
When the Valley Oasis Youth Homeless Demonstration Program's (YHDP) Outreach Team connected with them in early 2025, they were introduced to a compassionate team that listened, understood, and helped them take the next steps forward. Through Antelope Valley Partners for Health (AVPH) case management, they received essential supports like food transportation, clothing, and documentation, which helped them regain stability.
Within months, their perseverance paid off. They secured affordable housing, received a Section 8 voucher through a partner agency, and with YHDP's help, moved into their own apartment stocked with groceries and household essentials.
Today, they are housed, thriving, and a powerful reminder that with support and determination, change is possible.
At Valley Oasis, we are proud to walk alongside young people as they build brighter, more stable futures - becuase every youth deserves a place to call home.
