JFS of Greenwich Hosts Second Annual Friendsgiving Event

JFS of Greenwich recently hosted its second annual Friendsgiving event, extending a warm welcome to families who have recently arrived in the United States. The gathering was filled with joy and inclusivity, creating a supportive environment for everyone.

The perfect weather set the stage for an afternoon of fun, with children participating in games and enjoying a delicious meal. A spirited soccer match unfolded as newcomers and volunteer boys came together on the field, fostering connections through friendly competition. Guests were treated to a traditional Thanksgiving feast, featuring turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and, of course, pumpkin pie.

Special thanks to Brunswick School for their ongoing support and amazing soccer players; Greenwich Country Day School for organizing games and providing a student photographer; King School for the turkey crafts and face painting; and student volunteers from Rye Country Day and Greenwich High School. A heartfelt thank you also goes to Father Bohdan Tymchyshyn at St. Basil Seminary for hosting and supporting the event for the second year.

If you are interested in volunteering for future events, please contact the JFS Volunteer Department.

Working Together to Improve Access to Behavioral Health

Last Sunday, Rachel Kornfeld and Geoffrey Anderson attended the Coffee Talk at Archangels Greek Orthodox Church, where they explained the vital services JFS provides. A wide range of programs were discussed, including counseling, behavioral health support, and social services and family resources.

We're delighted that Archangels is now a satellite office for JFS Behavioral Health Services, enabling us to offer more accessible community services. We are grateful for our growing relationship and look forward to continuing this important collaboration to serve those in need.

Meet the JFS Volunteer Services Team!

At JFS, volunteers are essential to the work we do in the community. Led by a passionate and dedicated team, our Volunteer Department connects individuals to meaningful opportunities to give back.
