Share your voice about housing choice in Oakville
The town is proposing to permit four housing units per residential lot for single detached homes townwide; and low-rise apartment style housing up to four storeys within 800 metres of Sheridan College.

Jack Tosta
Manager - Building Inspections
Jack joins us from the City of Welland where he was Chief Building Official for six years. Prior to that, he held Chief Building Official roles at the City of Thorold and Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury where he was responsible for overseeing Plans Examination, Building Inspections, and Zoning Examination teams for large scale residential developments. His building career began in the Town of Oakville as Building Services Representative.

From there, he served the public and building industry in increasingly progressive roles at the City of Brantford, Town of Ancaster, and Town of Newmarket. Jack has an undergraduate degree in Public Policy from McMaster University and Masters Certificates from York Schulich School of Business in Public Management and Municipal Leadership. He has completed Leading in a Unionized Environment, Change Management, and Strategic Leadership courses from York Schulich. He also holds the CBCO and OAPSO designations. Jack is looking forward to supporting the team in building a safe community.
Iva Popova
Building Services Representative
Iva has over eight years of experience in the construction industry with her most recent role as Construction Technologist in the Design & Construction Management department at the University of Toronto.
Previous to that she was a project manager for an Emergency Restoration Services Company and a robotics construction start up.

She is graduate of University of Toronto - Environmental Sciences as well as Sheridan College - Architectural Technology.

Iva is passionate about anything construction and is looking forward to helping you with the permitting process and getting you closer to bringing your next construction project to life.
Grant Ziliotto
Building Inspector
Grant brings a wealth of experience from his 33-year tenure at the City of Burlington. His journey began in the Public Works Department, where he specialized in Storm Sewer Management before transitioning to the Building Department.

Throughout his career, Grant held pivotal roles such as Customer Service Representative, By Law Officer, and Building Inspector. He later ascended to leadership positions, including Deputy CBO/Supervisor of Building Inspections and Manager of By Law Enforcement, Licensing, and Animal Services.

Following his retirement in 2021, Grant continued to contribute his expertise as a Building Inspector for the City of St. Catharines, before joining us at the Town of Oakville as Building Inspector.
Jarret McNamee
Building Inspector
Jarret has been in the architectural industry for almost 30 years as a designer primarily working in Oakville and surrounding areas.

His years of experience running his own firm has provided him with strong communication and people skills, extensive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, design, and construction concepts.

This experience has also included site inspections of his projects which has allowed him to transition smoothly into his new role with the Town of Oakville as a Building Inspector.

In creating a more inclusive community, the town seeks your input on accessibility initiatives. An online survey is open until February 25 to collect feedback on how the town can support people with disabilities, providing them with greater ease of access to town programs, services, facilities, public spaces, employment and communication.

The survey is open to all those who live, work, visit or offer services in Oakville. Your feedback is valuable in shaping the town’s 2024-2029 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan.
