Greetings, Dear Jennifer!
February is here, and with it come some familiar as well as some new offerings at TEALarbor stories.
I'm excited to announce that in March two event series begin:
*** A Writing Through the Seasons offering will be held on the gorgeous grounds of Bloedel Reserve. This program is designed for writers and nonwriters to experience how landscapes inspire and inform writing throughout the progression of nature’s seasons. There will be five sessions over two months (click here for details). This event continues each season for a year; sign up for one or more seasons.
*** The WE (Whole Earth) Cohorts journey via Zoom is especially for people who want to deepen and enhance their positive impact on the world; we apply our unique gifts through inner work as well as in community, for community. We will explore together how to apply ecological ideas to the matters that concern us in a fragmented, hurting, and fluctuating climate-changed world. The values of Spiritual Ecology and wisdom from Nature are the foundation for our work as a cohort. We will have six sessions over two and a half months. This event repeats in the summer and the autumn. Join one cohort or continue for all three. Dates and details available here.

Feb. 4th – 6th (Tues. – Thurs.) Love, Serve, Abide: Spiritual Ecology as Lifestyle for World Interfaith Harmony Week via Zoom Free – A United Nations Official Observance (register to get access) 8:00 – 9:00 AM
This experiential online event will offer participants simple ways to incorporate nature-based and creative aspects into their daily life. It is designed to guide participants through the various activities with opportunities for question/answer, sharing, and discussion. Each day we will focus on a specific way to assist our world including: spiritual ecology as love for the more-than-human and human world, spiritual ecology as service to the world, and spiritual ecology as a way of abiding in the world. This is not a sectarian offering; it is intended to support people of all faiths (or none) in finding and deepening their relationships with others through peaceable, interdisciplinary practices that they create consistent with their specific beliefs. Participants may join once, twice or all three days that this event occurs. We will gather each day - Feb 4th, Feb 5th, Feb 6th on Zoom from 8:00 – 9:00 AM Pacific Time/United States. Participants are requested to bring: paper, colored writing pens, photos of nature, objects from nature (leaves, cones, flowers, shells, rocks, soil, water, etc.). Everyone is welcome. Writing Through the Seasons is a new program designed for writers and nonwriters to experience how landscapes inspire and inform writing throughout the progression of nature’s seasons. It is for people of all genres or none, those comfortable with writing or not. There will be readings, gathering time, guided explorations on the land, writing and activity prompts, and opportunities to share writing. (Please note that sharing is optional and there will be no literary critique.) Participants will experience the nature/creativity connection; be guided through free writing and practice; learn ways to bring nature into their writing projects and creative processes; and receive feedback on how their projects can incorporate these practices. Spending guided time outside roaming or sitting will be a significant aspect of this offering. Participants should bring: a few pens, journal (preferably unlined), weather appropriate clothing and gear, and water bottle, as well as an open heart and mind. This five-session offering is co-sponsored by TEALarbor stories, Bloedel Reserve, and BARN. The program will take place on the exquisite grounds of Bloedel Reserve.

Mar. 10th – May 28th WE (Whole Earth) Cohorts via Zoom $650./3 months
This offering is especially for people who want to deepen and enhance their positive impact on the world; we apply our unique gifts through inner work as well as in community, for community. We will explore together how to apply ecological ideas to the matters that concern us in a fragmented, hurting, and fluctuating climate-changed world. The values of Spiritual Ecology and wisdom from Nature are the foundation for our work as a cohort. We will approach our passions in a very practical way; each participant will have a special area of concern that they will focus on during the course of our time together. Drawing inspiration from readings, poetry, ritual, images, creativity, writing, outdoor time, and sound will be the grounding in our sessions. We will also have opportunities to sit in sacred circle to discern the next steps in our individual and collective work on behalf of the world. Radical compassion, gratitude, justice, hope, and love will underlie all that we do. Commit to a three-month cohort or to the entire nine-month series. Gatherings will be ninety minutes in length and occur twice monthly. Choose one of two learning cohort times: Mondays 7:00-8:30 AM Pacific or Wednesdays 1:00-2:30 PM Pacific*.
