Governor Announces CAMBA Housing Venture Award
On July 21st, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced CAMBA Housing Ventures, Inc. and CAMBA, Inc. have been awarded a Vital Brooklyn site to develop 291 units of sustainable, permanently affordable and supportive housing and over 30,000 square feet of community facility in Flatbush, which will be known as Clarkson Estates. Vital Brooklyn   is a $1.4 billion State initiative that targets and invests in eight integrated areas, from healthcare to housing, establishing a new standard for addressing chronic economic and racial disparities in Brooklyn’s high needs communities.

Clarkson Estates will serve as an anchor of affordability and opportunity in the Flatbush Community.    Under plans developed by CAMBA Housing Ventures (CHV), Clarkson Estates will respond to the continuing need for affordable and stable housing available to residents with a range of incomes, household sizes and needs. The development will create new networks for residents and the community that support health, an active lifestyle, economic growth, and connections to neighbors and the larger community. Clarkson Estates will be constructed on a parcel named "Site L" at 329 Clarkson Avenue, which is land currently owned by Health Science Center at Brooklyn Foundation.
