Building a Better Space

Type A Personality
It should come as no surprise to anyone that I am an overachiever. Or, at least a high achiever. I put a lot of pressure on myself to accomplish a lot and it's always been that way.

It doesn't help either that I was a young female working in the old boys' club of Aerospace and Defense manufacturing back in 80's and 90's.
In those days I was an Operations Planner at that time, responsible to develop the production schedule, order material, chase shortages, release kits to the assembly floor, usher products through test and get them shipped -- all while being conscious of the Project Manager schedule and budget.
Kangaroo Crossing
One of my favorite triumphs in those days was getting a last minute assignment one afternoon for a modification we were doing for a project in Australia.
The Project Manager was himself Australian and tended to look down his nose at females in general (I don't know if that was because he was Australian or if he was just a jerk -- I love Australia -- my apologies if anyone from Australia is offended!)
Anyway, I was assigned this project because the original Planner managing that project had to take an emergency leave of absence. There was a meeting the next morning at 8am and the project manager walked into my office the afternoon prior and said 'I know you won't be able to get up to speed on this project by tomorrow but we'll just do the best we can'.
Difficult not Impossible
To me it was like he had thrown a gauntlet on the ground! What? It was impossible to get up to speed? Seriously? Challenge accepted
So of course, I stayed up literally all night long and when I walked into that meeting the next morning I had a full list of action items, material shortages, work in progress status and a complete project schedule timeline.
He was blown away. And I was a bit smug (still am, truth be told!) I earned his respect that day and he never called me a 'Sheila' once (which is now a passé term but one he called women derogatorily in those days).
The point is, I will do whatever it takes....in both my personal life and in business in order to help people, meet goals or solve problems.
So yeah, I'm a Type A overachiever. Even my blood type is A+!
Here are a few examples of my overachiever personality:
You already know I am a certified Fellow in Operations Management and I have a certificate in Supervision as well as certified as a Train the Trainer educator. I am also a licensed notary. I won't do real estate notarizations but any other ones are fine and I do them for free for our clients; only charging for travel time.
Project Management
I have a VFR pilot's license and a motorcycle license classification although I never do either these days.
But did you also know we (I/Executive Errands®) have a CA General B contractor's license? That means we can do any kind of remodeling project, big or small and we often do!
I wouldn't want to build a house from scratch (takes too much time) but give us a kitchen or bathroom to remodel and we're all over it. Need a new HVAC system? Would you like a tankless water heater? How about adding a fireplace or changing windows?
Yes, we do all of that. We also install new flooring including carpet, tile and laminate, re-tile showers and backsplashes, build and/or remodel pools, change out or reface cabinetry, do window treatments (shades, blinds, shutters and fabric), install wallpaper, paint and do electrical and plumbing.
Home Care
Really, we can do anything you'd like and most of our clients even outsource their home maintenance services to us -- pool, landscape, pest control, HVAC, carpet and upholstery cleaning, tile cleaning/sealing, roof inspections/repairs, windows and on and on. And of course, we always do Absentee Home Care.
Most bigger (read: messier) projects are done during the summer so our clients aren't disturbed by noise, dirt, dust or debris. They leave for the summer and come home to a brand new _________ (fill in the blank). They love it!
Stay Home
The current 'stay at home' order has everyone on edge and while we already have several projects in the works for this summer, we'd really like the opportunity to modify more of your spaces so they better reflect your personality and help make your home more functional, more comfortable or prettier.
We're hoping all this 'stay at home' order will end soon so we can start projects for our clients. Already we have several in the works and can quote anything you'd like!
Don't forget, Executive Errands® is shopping and running errands every day. If you need help, give us a call. Or if you have a neighbor in need, you can always purchase a gift certificate -- we're offering 6 hours for the price of 4 and they can use the time as they need it.
For more information, to set up an account or to purchase a gift certificate, please call us at 760.898.9604 or by email.
