Four practical steps to help us all serve as peacemakers
Last Sunday, Pastor Don shared four practical ways that can we calm our tempers and serve as peacemakers, a critical step in helping us learn to love God's way.

  1. Tame our tongues. As we learn in Proverbs 15:1, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."
  2. Don't jump into the struggle. In other words, don't pick a side.
  3. Keep watch of who we hang out with.
  4. Stop. And LISTEN. Isaiah 26:3 tells us, "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you."

If you missed last week's message, you can watch it below or at hfumc.org/media.

This week's message builds on our last five with lessons from the Bible on how we can build the spiritual home of our family. Right now, we are laying the foundation for generations to come. What are we doing to help our children and their children and their children learn to love God's way?

Boston Butt Fundraiser was a HUGE success. Thank you.
The Boston Butt fundraiser for Adam Dimke was a huge success, raising well over $4,500. To the guys who spent all day smoking the food, THANK YOU. To those who helped organize the event and coordinate pickups, THANK YOU. To the members, family and friends who purchased food, gave a donation, or shared about the event on social media, THANK YOU. And to Adam, THANK YOU for being such a light in our world. Friday was an awesome example of how we can love God's way.
