Expansion News: Volume 2
I'll never forget Christmas Eve of 2012... do you remember it?  Ben and I spent the entire month of December preparing for that special night.  We were excited to greet our guests and introduce them to our Savior, Jesus.  Jesus born as a baby, but forever our King and Messiah.

Filled with anticipation, Ben diligently wrote his sermon, and I carefully crafted the worship service.  We gave our best to our Lord; the planning of the service was our offering to Him.  We made sure all the chairs were neatly arranged, the slides for the projector were easy to read and accurate, we made sure that coffee was made, and that people would bring Christmas cookies.  Of course, we didn't forget to put the paper shields on the candles.  At RedArrow Ministries we try to think through every detail so that our guest walk away saying, "They did all that for me."

The worship team came early, and we prepared our hearts and skills to lead God's people.  It was Christmas Eve....we were filled with anticipation for what God would do.  About 15 minutes prior to the service beginning, I noticed that there seemed to be more people in the fellowship hall than there were empty seats in the sanctuary.  I asked several volunteers to set up all the chairs along the back wall.

It was time to begin... Our worship team took the stage and started to sing our prelude.  While on stage, I watched more, and more, people file into the building.  I could see the parking lot from the window, and I watched cars continuing to pull in hoping for a place to park.  My heart ached as the cars made the loop and parked on RedArrow Highway.  Some people gave up, and they drove away.

As our volunteers frantically set up chairs in the circle of the sanctuary, as well as throughout the fellowship hall, I felt as if we had failed.  We were not prepared for the miracle God had in store for our church that night.  My expectation of what God could do was too limited, and I wasn't ready for His guests to come.

We hadn't made enough room at the table.

The following Christmas Eve, we went to two Christmas Eve services.

Advent is here again.... ever thought about what Advent means?  Advent refers to the wait for the coming Messiah.  The Israelities understood what it meant to wait.  Over and over again throughout the Old Testament, the Israelites were asked to be patient and wait.  From Noah waiting for the water to reside,  Jacob waiting for his bride, Joseph waiting for justice while he sat in jail, the Israelites waiting for the promise land, etc... the list is long.

RedArrow Ministries has begun Building for the Journey, but for some of us this is another example of God's call to wait.  There are many pieces to this expansion that have to wait for God's timing.  While we wait, there are many ways to partner.   RedArrow Ministries invites you to join us in Building for the Journey.  Your input, participation and prayers have been, and will continue to be,  very much appreciated.

Micah 7:7   "But as for me, I will look to the LORD;  I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me."

  • December of 2015:   RedArrow Ministries formed a building vision team.  This team met for 9 months to discern the need for building expansion.
  • July of 2016:  The Building Vision Team shared the conceptual drawing to the congregation, and we asked for you to begin praying about your role in the project.
  • August of 2016:  We participated in a churchwide survey.  This survey gave us feedback on the conceptual drawings and overall ministry of RedArrow Ministries.
  • October of 2016:  At a congregation meeting, we shared the results of the survey.  This survey indicated that within our church 92% trust leaders to make wise decisions about our future, 87% see the proposed building plan as the right response to our facility needs, and almost 90% of people indicated a desire to help financially support the work ahead.
  • November 2016:  Get involved.... many people have joined the Building for the Journey project by finding a role on the Children & Youth, Communication, Events, Gratitude, and Prayer Teams, as well as by participating in the video project.
Building for the Journey: A Road to Commitment
January-February of 2017

During the months of January and February, the people of RedArrow Ministries will be on A Road to Commitment.  This commitment campaign will be an intentional period of planning, discerning and praying for this project.  During these two months, please seek our Lord on your role for Building for the Journey.
  • Sunday morning teachings
  • Events
  • Prayer Opportunities
  • Commitments
  • and more....
It is our hope, that at the end of the February you will have a picture of how God can use you in the Building for the Journey project.
Why do we pray?  Ever stopped and thought about that?  Most of you want to give me the Sunday School answer of "It is how we communicate with God."  Yep!  Or, you might raise your hand and say to me, "Because prayer changes me."  YEP!  We pray because Jesus prayed!

Luke 3:21 When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too.  And as he was praying, heaven was opened...

Luke 6:12-13  One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.  When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them....

Ministry and miracles happened when Jesus prayed.

The Building for the Journey project is beyond any of us.  We are asking that you pray with diligence.  Seek our Lord, and He will continue to provide.   Building for the Journey has 2 purposes, 1. To bring Glory to God and 2. To be used as a tool to further His Kingdom.

"If we call upon the Lord, He has promised in his Word to answer, to bring the unsaved to Himself, to pour out His Spirit among us.  If we don't call upon the Lord, He has promised nothing-nothing at all.  It's as simple as that.  No matter what I preach or what we claim to believe in our heads, the future will depend upon our times of prayer.  This is the engine that will drive the church."  (Jim Cymbala, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire)

It is our desire that we be a church saturated in prayer.  Spend sometime calling upon the Lord.  Ask for His presense to increase in your life and watch your relationship with Him grow.  This expansion project is an opportunity to watch God answer prayers.

Thank you for joining the prayer journey.
Cling to the promises of scripture as you pray in His name:

Matthew 7:7  Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:11 If you ... know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Thank you for joining the journey of expansion with us; we are . . .
