"Way of the Peaceful Warrior"
If, on my worst days when I feel mired in negativity and stress, I am able to shift to a larger perspective... to gaze at a situation with a wider angle lens or from a different view entirely... it often dissipates the struggle that I'm experiencing.
We can do this all the time in our lives.... in our relationships, our jobs, in how we move through and experience the world. What happens when we try something and it doesn't work out? Do we keep doing it the same way hoping for a different result? What if we are we able to step back and look at the bigger picture and perhaps learn something from it instead? What if we are able to look at situations from multiple viewpoints to better understand them in their entirety!?
I had a chance to put this into practice when I took a walk around Station Square with the property manager last week. As you know, we've been leading outdoor yoga classes there for the last few months. But, they were not working out as well as we had anticipated. We could have finished out the summer "fighting the old" (what we started with, but wasn't working), but we knew that there was a better solution. As we walked to the overlook (literally shifting our perspective), we found ourselves gazing down at The Landing and... BOOM!!....we immediately knew what we had to do!
We are
thrilled to announce that we now have a NEW RIVERFRONT LOCATION FOR OUR SATURDAY OUTDOOR YOGA CLASSES! (see view above)
Continuing through September, we'll be setting up on Saturday mornings at The Landing at Station Square. Yes, yoga classes on a permanent barge located on the Mon with optional sun shading... how sweet is that!? And, we never would have had this opportunity if we hadn't been open to shifting our perspective on the situation!
May we always be open to releasing what isn't working, holding us back, or causing us harm... and embracing the opportunity to focus on "building the new!"
Namate,
Kristi
