And we continue our What Makes Twin Vee the Best Riding Boat on the Water? feature this week by discussing Twin Vee's amazing stability on the water. This translates to lower ownership costs and a superior experience with more usable deck space, safer gear handling, and the ability to confidently stay on the water when others head for the dock.

I hope everyone has a great weekend on the water. Enjoy the newsletter and I'll see you all next week!

Part III: Stability on the Water

Welcome to our third installment of "What Makes Twin Vee the Best Riding Boat on the Water?", a weekly feature where we explore why Twin Vee’s catamarans outperform the competition. Our focus is on the quantifiable benefits that matter most to the Twin Vee community and prospective customers.

This week, we're talking about the unmatched stability of a Twin Vee.

The wide beam of a twin-hull boat, coupled with separated buoyancy centers, provides exceptional transverse stability. Unlike monohulls, Twin Vee boats resist roll due to the increased righting moment generated by the wide hull spacing. This inherent roll resistance results in a dramatically more stable platform, both at rest and underway. For fishing, diving, cruising, or drifting in beam seas, Twin Vee’s geometry delivers superior comfort, safety, and usability.

The Physics of Comfort: Why Twin Vee Doesn't Rock

The core differentiator is simple physics. A monohull acts like a pendulum, forced to pivot around its single, central axis. Any side-to-side force (a wake, a beam sea, or passengers moving to one gunwale) initiates a roll.

A Twin Vee catamaran, however, acts like a stepladder. The wide stance of the two hulls means the boat has a much larger base of support. To initiate a roll, a wave or force must overcome the righting moment generated by the distant buoyancy centers.

In practical terms, this eliminates the unsettling and fatiguing "snap-roll" motion common on many deep-V monohulls. Our customers report being able to fish comfortably in conditions that would send monohull owners back to the dock.

The Inherent Advantage: Design vs. Add-Ons

While some competitors attempt to address a monohull's stability deficit with expensive, complex solutions like gyro-stabilizers, Twin Vee's advantage is inherent and maintenance-free.

A stabilization unit can be an expensive technology layer added to a fundamentally unstable design. It requires power, maintenance, and deck space. Twin Vee's stability is built into the fiberglass structure itself, delivering a level of roll resistance that is always on, requires zero maintenance, and doesn't draw a single amp of electricity. This translates to lower ownership costs and higher reliability.

Stability as a Performance Multiplier

Stability is often only thought of in terms of comfort, but it is, in fact, a crucial performance multiplier and a safety feature. The practical advantages fall into three categories.

  1. Increased Usable Deck Space: a level platform allows you and your passengers to utilize the full beam of the boat safely.

  2. Superior Gear Handling: For divers gearing up or anglers fighting a fish, a steady platform dramatically reduces the risk of falls and injury, turning choppy days into usable days.

  3. Reduced Vertical Acceleration: this helps reduce the "slamming" associated with monohulls, as our twin hulls pierce waves rather than ride over them, further enhancing the comfort and extending the boat’s operational envelope.

We believe that a boat's stability is the foundation of a superior boating experience. Twin Vee boats allow anglers to have a steadier platform for fishing, divers to have an easier time gearing up, and families can relax without fighting the sway of a monohull.

Twin Vee's 22 BayCat Named to Best Catamarans for 2025 List

On Tuesday, we announced that Twin Vee PowerCats’ recently relaunched 22 BayCat has been named one of the “Best Catamarans for 2025” by Boat Trader. This recognition validates the significant effort our team put into modernizing this cherished classic, affirming its blend of traditional versatility with cutting-edge construction.

The review, authored by long-time marine writer Lenny Rudow, praised the 22 BayCat’s dual-purpose design, which allows owners to confidently fish the shallows one day and the ocean the next. The 22 BayCat is manufactured using modern techniques, incorporating advanced vacuum-infusion technology into its hull. This process creates a lighter, stronger, and more consistent structure, directly translating to improved fuel economy and a smoother, quieter ride quality.

For serious anglers, Mr. Rudow highlighted the robust feature set, including a powder-coated T-top, a pair of 25-gallon livewells, a tackle station, and four rocket launchers. With a 65-gallon fuel tank and the ability to handle up to 200 maximum horsepower, it offers excellent range and performance. Beyond fishing, the article noted its family-friendly appeal with optional bow cushions and a head compartment, all while maintaining a key competitive advantage: accessible pricing. This affordability makes the 22 BayCat a compelling entry point for first-time boat owners.
