Be Here!

Did you know that attending school every day is one of the most important things your child can do to ensure a bright future?

I would like to remind you of the importance of daily school attendance and share some facts about attendance from attendanceworks.org.

Did you know that students who miss school, even as early as kindergarten, can struggle academically in later years? Research has shown that students who attend school regularly are more likely to graduate high school, attend college, and be successful in their careers. Additionally, consistent attendance helps students develop important social skills and relationships with their peers and teachers.

On the other hand, frequent absences can have serious consequences for students, both academically and socially. When students miss school, they miss out on important instruction and practice that cannot be made up We understand that there may be times when your child is unable to attend school due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances. When this happens, it is important to let the school know as soon as possible.

Please remember to call the Vessels Elementary School attendance line at 714 220-6990 to report an absence the morning of an illness. This helps us keep accurate attendance records and ensures your child is accounted for. We urge you to make daily school attendance a priority for your child. By attending school regularly, your child will have the best chance at success both academically and socially.

  • We take risks and see mistakes as opportunities to grow! We find joy in our work and help others to do the same.
  • We develop positive, meaningful relationships with our students, parents, and colleagues to best support the learning community's needs.
  • We work together across grade levels and continuously adapt instruction to meet the needs of all learners in our classroom.

Traffic and Safety at Vessels

Please make sure to read the following traffic safety PSA!

1. Slow down and watch for pedestrians. There are kids and families everywhere!

2. Do not make a u-turn anywhere on any street around the schooler in the lot. This can cause an accident and significantly slows the flow of traffic.

3. Do not leave your vehicle unattended in the loop. Please do not get out of the car for any reason. Once again, it significantly slows the flow of traffic.

4. Pull all the way forward if you are in the loop. If you stop by Carousel Daycare or by the upper-grade classrooms to load your child, it significantly slows traffic flow.

5. Do not allow your child to exit your car from the driver's side in the loop, or on the street. Cars may be passing and students/children could be hurt. Kids should always exit from the passenger's side!

Please be respectful and aware that there are many other families and students around you at all times! If you are in a rush, I suggest leaving earlier each day. We need to keep our kids safe and Vessels accident-free!

The Cypress Police Department will also be in and around the area at drop-off and pick-up throughout the year, so, please slow down and obey all traffic rules.

We appreciate your support!
