Bike safety at Vessels is a must!
Please help us keep our Bulldogs safe. Every student that rides a bike to school MUST wear a helmet. To learn more about what you can do to keep your student safe while on a bike click HERE .
Please help us keep all of our kids safe

If you wait with your child in the morning, please only stay with your child and not their friends.

All children without parents are to remain at the lunch tables by grade level. The Vessels staff wear yellow vests and supervise children at the lunch tables every day.

We also invite you to stand against the MPR and office wall/under hang, away from the lunch tables while you wait.

We would like to remind you that Vessels students or their siblings should not run around or walk along the planters in front or by the tables to avoid accidents and keep everyone safe.

In the afternoon, all parents are welcome to stay at the lunch benches to wait for your student. Please let students know that the tables are the meeting place. Parents are not to meet children at their teacher's door.

Please do not go to your child's classroom door during drop-off or pick-up in the morning or afternoon. If you would like to leave special instructions please do so via Class Dojo or email.

Thank you so much for your understanding and for making Vessels a safe place to learn!

Disney Musicals in Schools is Coming to Vessels!
This year, we are proud to announce that Vessels is teaming with The Segerstrom Center for the Arts to produce and perform a Disney musical at the school.

This is will be a great opportunity for our upper-grade Bulldogs to show off their singing and acting skills. It will be a true honor to work with the professionals from Segerstrom and most of all, student performers will go on a field trip to the theatre.

We will begin auditions in October so stay tuned for more details.
Attendance Matters...A lot!
Chronic absenteeism, or in other words, missing 10 percent of the school year for any reason is one of the primary reasons student fall behind and under preform. We need your help this school year to ensure that your student is here everyday! Attendanceworks.org is a great resource that outlines shocking statistics about attendance in California and some easy ways that you as a parent can help your child succeed.

Click to read more about children falling behind as a result of absences in elementary school and how you can easily prevent this.

We want to ensure that all students are the absolute best they can be. Please make sure to have your child here and on-time daily. And yes, even tardies can impact students growth.

  • Thank you for helping us make this the best, most productive year ever! Remember that when your student is at Vessels all day, they are one day closer to proficiency and mastery of grade-level expectations.
VESSELS JOG-A-THON

The Vessels PTA raises funds each year for everything that makes Vessels Elementary School fun and and a top-notch place to learn. With your help, the PTA supports field trips, learning assemblies, Lego robotics, technology, family-fun nights, noon-league sports, playground equipment, teacher supplies, library support, and much, much more.

Our first and largest fundraiser is the Vessels Jog-A-Thon happening on Friday, September 20, 2019. Our goal this year is $55,000 and we need your help!

Be on the lookout for flyers that detail classroom incentive information in the coming weeks. As we reach fundraising makers the entire school will be in on the fun:

$2,000 - Crazy hair day

$5,000 - Bubble morning drop off

$10,000 - Mr. Holman rides a tricycle around campus (all day)

$20,000 -Mr. Holman will have a bulldog painted on his head.

$30,000 - Mr. Holman directs traffic in a hotdog costume.

$40,000 - Mr. Holman and possibly Vessels staff members will have to kiss a pig (or some other animal.)

$50,000 - Mr. Holman and possibly your favorite Vessels staff members will be duct-taped to a wall.

Not only will these fun events occur, but there will also be individual and classroom incentive opportunities for the entire school.

What's more, each Sunday this newsletter will detail what your generous donations have gone to support throughout the year.

Once again, thank you for all that you do for Vessels, you are a huge part of OUR success and what makes our school so special!
