BDJ Gala Weekend Membership Mash Up

Shabbat Feb. 24/25

Our annual gala is all about celebrating and building community. Let's start on Shabbat by getting to know some new people!

Thank you to our gracious hosts: Emily & Etan Cohen, Julie & Alex Fax, Claire & Zev Hurwitz, Batsheva & Sheldon Kasdan, Rachel & Aaron Lerner, Evvy & David Mankowitz, Laurel & Alec Schramm, Mindy & Mark Treitel, Naomi & Brian Zwecker, Ellen & Gabe Wintner!

Scout Shabbat

Our Scout troop will join us in leading davening on Shabbat morning. Through the celebrations known as Scout Shabbat, Scouts can reflect on their faith. Every unit can celebrate these days as they choose — you can attend a worship service wearing a full field uniform, participate in a worship service or conduct a service project for a religious organization.

The Scouting program at BDJ is more than just an activity for our youth to learn about the outdoors. Scouting provides fun, fellowship, and training to our youth as well as youth in our community. It emphasizes honesty, self-reliance, and respect. Through a year-round program, it affects character, citizenship, and personal fitness. But the success of our Scouting depends on our volunteers, who serve in a variety of leadership roles so that our young people may benefit from our Scouting ministry. As the Boy Scouts of America celebrates its anniversary, we salute the splendid volunteers who serve as Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Sea Scout Skippers and Venturing Advisors, and in other positions of leadership. Our Scout unit(s) would like to invite you and your family to be a part of their program. (Noah Blumofe - Scoutmaster Girls Troop 360 & Hal Schloss - Scoutmaster Boys Troop 360)

Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance and Inclusion Month

Torat Chayyim | "Who decides what’s normal? Historical and Halachic perspectives on the construction of normalcy"

Join Hetty Harlow Melmed and Rav Yosef for a Special Edition Torat Chayyim in recognition of Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance & Inclusion Month (JDAIM). In addition to the historical and Halachik perspectives, you'll also hear about what BDJ seems to be "getting right" in terms of inclusion, and what our next areas of growth can be as we strive to be more inclusive of disabled individuals and their families in our shul.

If you require an accommodation in order to participate in Shabbat services with BDJ please contact We welcome and support children, teens, and adults with disabilities, mental health conditions, and their families and caregivers. Please reach out if you have any questions and/or would like to request an accommodation.
