GUEST MINISTRY AT CELEBRATION 2020


CCM is pleased to announce  Judy Hubbard  as a guest minister at Celebration 2020.

Judy loves God, Jesus and the vision of Zion. She was blessed to grow up in Kirkwood, MO in a loving RLDS church family. She attended Graceland College, where she met her husband, Gene Hubbard. They married and had four beautiful, children, 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

In 1998, God called Judy to come “learn of His ways” by starting a street ministry in Columbia Missouri’s Public Housing.

For 10 years she learned about the precious people, loved by God. She worked among and learned from those in poverty and suffering. Judy and Glenn Cobbins Sr. have been working together for 21 years, helping and loving people physically and spiritually to become inspired by the equality and worth of all persons to God and to one another. 

For the next 15 years, the Imani Mission Center was sponsored by Community of Christ. The inner-city mission and Destiny of H.O.P.E. were blessed to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the imprisoned, bring healing to the sick and addicted, and teach the people about God, Jesus and Zion! 

Judy is anxious to come and share her testimony of God’s love and care for all persons. We look forward to her ministry.

CELEBRATION 2020 UPDATE

CCM has completed the first round of calling  to the CCM community regarding the on-line Celebration 2020 opportunities.  The response has been very good.  You will soon receive a questionnaire registering your interest areas for the week.

CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES is a contemporary expression of the ministry of Jesus in today's world.  It is a missionary expression of the Community of Christ dedicated to proclaiming Jesus Christ in order to promote communities of love, joy, peace and hope. 

This proclamation seeks to identify the suffering, lost and broken who are deeply in need of a close and wholesome relationship with God. In this relationship, CCM has been called to seek God's presence, nurtured by activities of praise, healing, prayer, service and fellowship, engaging the work of the Holy Spirit

MORE REMEMBRANCES OF
             NANCY KNIGHT

I don't know when, it seems like I've always known Nancy. She was a person full of love for people. Any time I showed up at camp, Nancy would leave whatever she was doing to give me a hug; some were longer, others shorter. When I asked about this I learned my temperature spiritual/emotional was being taken; very intuitive this woman. Sometimes she'd asked me how I was doing. If I didn't give the "right" answer she'd look at me and usually walk away.  I soon learned to tell her what was going on. I borrowed her Bible but had to be opened where it was. I brought it back closed. She looked at me. I opened it up where it was "marked".  It had been opened for so long it was preconditioned. Nancy thought it was a "magic" trick. Smiled and asked how I did it. This was what endeared people to her.

I first met Nancy at a CCM celebration in 2000 in Michigan and over the years she became my Canadian sister. As I look around the house, I see so many memories here, plus the times in Canada and at CCM events. I will especially cherish one of the last conversations we had where she prayed for my health and over my house and how that prayer changed something in the atmosphere. I knew my health was returning.  Nancy was such a special person and I already miss not being able to call her.

COMES TO FOG
 
The FRIENDS OF GOD gathering is welcoming  Marilyn Slauter  as guest speaker on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:00 pm. CDT.   Come share with us in community as the Holy Spirit ties us together.
