The Bastille Day party was a big success!
The Alliance opened up our new office to host a Bastille Day party on August 19th. Over fifty members and guests attended, and all enjoyed a wonderful potluck, which included some delicious French dishes. The crowd participated in a French trivia quiz with prizes, and sung "The Marseillaise." A wonderful time was had by all, and it was a great opportunity for members to see the new office space. This event was just the first of many events to come for members to enjoy.

Monthly French Film Night is ready to begin
Our next public event will be the first in a monthly series of French films. These will be held one night a month. Admission and refreshments are FREE, with the opportunity to donate a nominal amount to offset our costs. Our first film will be shown at 7:30 on Friday, August 28th. We hope to see you all there!

| Thank you for your support and donations Merci Beaucoup! to all who have donated items, funds, and time to get our office space up and running. In last month's newsletter we published a list of needed items and you responded generously. Thank you for donating furniture, books, electronics, kitchen and office supplies, and artwork. There are several items still needed:
- Large projector screen
- Lightweight foldable tables-6 feet long
- Hot/Cold water dispenser
- Microwave
- Whiteboard
- Vacuum cleaner
We will gladly accept gently used or new items, or monetary donations in any amount for the above items. Questions about donations can be sent to [email protected]. |
Fall classes are starting soon!
Now is the perfect time to take a French class in the comfort and convenience of our new office space, centrally located in Fresno near Freeway 41. Register online soon and avoid the late fee! Early registration ends September 1. We have expanded our classes for all levels from ten week to eleven week sessions.
