I Can Do All Things...Through a Bible Verse Taken Out of Context

As we begin our bumper sticker wisdom summer series, we will ponder together all the different ways scripture can be read and used to support us in our faith. We begin with Philippians 4:1-14 which is full of encouragement from the Apostle Paul to the church in Philippi. He ends with, 'I can do all things through him who strengthens me.' And it is encouraging, but maybe not in the way you would expect. It's not about achieving your lofty goals or living a best life defined by bank accounts and clothing labels. It's about what...and Who...gets you through difficult times.  

God who strengthens us, if we really are to rely on Your strength, it means we have to see the limits of our own. I can get through all things, with Christ, in whose name we pray, Amen.

 Why does living faithfully seem so complicated sometimes?

Thank you for your dedication to CAP! Your group's service toward others during your recent service week was an inspiration to ALL of us. You have helped our participants have a home that is more safe, warm, and dry. We are incredibly grateful and humbled by your efforts.
