Notable Recent Retirements
Gene Gauthier started at Burger Boat Company in March of 1980 and has held several positions throughout the years, including Boat Manager, Joinery Coordinator, Design Group Manager, and Millwork Manager.
Gene is a great role model and mentor to many. Gene's attention to detail has always been impressive. We can only assume that retirement will give "the bearded one" more time to spend with his family and tending his garden. Congratulations, Gene, and many thanks for your awesome contributions!

One of Burger’s greatest representatives, Mark Gagnon, has retired. Mark joined Burger in 1980 as a Carpenter and Fitter. Even though he was a Carpenter, Mark fondly recalls that he never stepped foot on a finished yacht until 1983. In the late 90's, Mark was promoted to Second-Shift Manager until he became Metals/Production Manager in 2004. In 2006 Mark became Director of Manufacturing. Then in 2012, Mark became Burger’s Maintenance Manager, keeping that role until retirement.

Mark truly believed that everyone could make a career by learning new skills and working their way up. He also enjoyed being a tour guide when given the opportunity. Mark's passion for ship building is unquestionable, stating many times that "this is not a job, this is my life". Mark says he will be spending his retirement traveling with family.
