Burleson set to celebrate National Night Out
Join us for National Night Out from 6 - 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1. The public is invited to celebrate this annual community-building event at the Old Town Picture Show on Ellison Street or at Elk's Diner, 344 SW Wilshire Blvd. Staff from Burleson Police Department Texas, Burleson Fire Department, The Burleson Recreation Center, Burleson Public Library and other city departments will also be present at multiple neighborhood events throughout the city. National Night Out is designed to promote community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, better places to live.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in Old Town Oct. 1
The final Old Town Picture Show is at 8 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 1.
Join us for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and if you come dressed in costume you will have a chance to win a prize that is out-of-this-world!

First Thursday to benefit local charity

on Thursday, Oct. 6 participating stores in Old Town will be donating 10% of all sales to

' Fall in Love' Sale at the Burleson Animal Shelter
October is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog month and to celebrate the shelter is offering a "Fall in Love" Sale. Select dogs in the shelter will be $85 instead of the regular $140. Come fall in love with one of these dogs today.
 
Come by and visit all of the available pets at the Burleson Animal Shelter, 775 SE John Jones Drive. Hours: 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday-Friday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays.


Remember: If your pet has gone missing you may submit an online form, email the animal shelter or call 817-426-9283 to make a report. It is very important to send an email to the shelter with a picture of the lost or found animal so the employees know exactly what to look for.
National Preparedness Month - Mock Disaster Drill
We hope that you have enjoyed the tips that Burleson Fire Department shared during September's National Preparedness Month on how to prepare yourself and your family for an emergency. One of the most important things you can do is practice your emergency plan. This Saturday, Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. - noon the Burleson Fire Department and CERTwill be hosting a large mock disaster at 225 W. Renfro St. So please don't be alarmed if you see a lot of activity in that area.
