Paper Districtwide Contest!

It’s officially week 3 and the final week of the February Jasper County and Paper districtwide contest!

You have until Friday February 24th to win a $25 Amazon gift card. The student at each school with the most activities on the Paper platform will win! To enter, simply log on to Paper through your Classlink dashboard and use any of the Paper features (learn more below). 

Paper helps students with homework, schoolwork, and studying support:

• Live Help: chat with a tutor to get 24/7 homework, project and studying help.

• Review Center: submit any typed writing drafts for expert annotated feedback.

• PaperLive: live, interactive educational shows featuring live hosts.

Since the start of the contest (Jan 30th) there have been 1,120 activities from Jasper County School District! Amazing work everyone!

Ridgeland Elementary: 535 activities

Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence: 195 activities

This includes live chat sessions, essays reviewed, Paper Missions (math), and Paper Live Sessions. 

South Carolina Association of Educational Office Professionals ("SCAEOP")

The Jasper County Association of Educational Office Professionals ("JAEOP") will attend the 49th conference in Greenville, SC February 16-19, 2023.  

We are governed by ByLaws and meet monthly. We pay dues annually. We are instructed under SCAEOP to promote professionalism and recognize the contributions of Educational Office Professionals. We strived to improve the quality of service provided for our students, educators and community.

The last few years we have been able to attend this conference thanks to the support of Jasper County District (JCSD). We want to share all the ways we serve the District and make sure all JCSD stakeholders are aware of how much their support for our work is appreciated.

Our very own District employee and local JAEOP President, Feneshiae D. Greene, will be presenting at this year's conference. Her topic is "The Challenge of Change: If it does not challenge you, it won’t change you.”

The 14th Area Director is Ms. Doris Burns who covers and communicates with Allendale, Beaufort, Colleton and Hampton Counties. Newsletters are created after Board meetings to communicate with these Counties.

Students Learn about Food Insecurity

Two representatives, Nick Osbourne (CEO) and Kara Moore (Director of Child Hunger Programs) of the Low Country Food Bank joined Miss Parker's English 2H class on Wednesday to share information about food insecurity in South Carolina. The students are gathering information to deepen their understanding of food insecurity - the causes and effects as they prepare to write their informational essay on the topic.

The students were engaged in activities and used the process of inquiry to acquire information.
