Business Affairs in the News

Check out these articles featured on the UNLV News Center that highlight the work of our Business Affairs teams.

Bringing Campus Safety to Light

Each year representatives from across campus come together for a lighting and safety walk to identify needed lighting repairs and safety updates. Learn more about the role that Business Affairs teams play in this important safety initiative on the UNLV News Center.

UNLV Launches Climate Action Plan to Drive Sustainability

On September 13, UNLV made history as the first NSHE institution to launch a climate action plan. The planning process was led by Business Affairs team members. Learn more about the Rebel CAP on the UNLV News Center.

Department Highlight: Cashiering and Student Accounts

The start of the semester is a whirlwind for the Cashiering and Student Accounts team, but they’re always up for the challenge.

This dynamic group plays a crucial role in educating students and parents about their financial responsibilities related to enrollment. The department is structured with Cashiering handling student payments and campus-wide processing, while Student Accounts manages collections from students and third parties, ensuring that all charges are correctly aligned with Board of Regents fees.

The team also sets up payment plans, working a semester ahead to help students manage their financial commitments and focus on their education. They’re excited about an upcoming upgrade to Touchnet, a third party payment processor, which will soon offer students more flexibility in managing their payments, including new features like text notifications and recurring payments.

Don’t take our word for it – check out the video to see the team in action as they navigate the bustling start of the semester!
