The Bryan Area Foundation, Shalom Counseling & Mediation Center and the United Way of Williams County are partnering with the Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (OANO) to bring the last of a series of workshops to Williams County for nonprofit organizations.
The last workshop for this year is on Board Development. Emily Croak, from Aly Sterling Philanthropy, will present topics on the rights and legal responsibilities of board members, their role in fundraising, conflict of interest and evaluating your board. Here are the details:

Parkview Hosting Prevention Training
Parkview Physicians Group and many regional partners are sponsoring a free, 2-hour QPR suicide prevention training sessions throughout the region on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019. QPR is a proven suicide prevention technique that can be easily learnt in a dynamic 2-hour session. QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. This technique is used to recognize the signs that someone is at risk of suicide, to offer hope and to get that person the care and support needed.  Learn what to say, where to refer. Training sessions are open to anyone 18 years and older who is interested in extending a helping hand. Registration will close on Thursday, Oct. 10, or as registration reaches capacity for each location and time. Thursday, October 17, 2019 for the Second Annual Michelle Bard Geary Community Cancer Symposium, held at New Hope Community Church in Bryan. The day will include a luncheon featuring keynote speaker Shannon Miller, Olympic gold medalist and ovarian cancer survivor; dermatology and head/neck screenings (appointment required); cancer-related continuing medical education (CMEs); and more. To celebrate the Bryan Area Foundation’s 50 th Anniversary , 11 bike rack have been donated to the community and placed throughout the city of Bryan. If you are a Williams County resident, you are eligible to enter the FIND a RACK…WIN a BIKE CONTEST! To enter the contest all you need to do is take a photo of yourself by any of the bike racks and post your photo to the Foundation’s Facebook Bike Contest post with the #bafbikechallenge or you may email your photo to jfreeman@bryanareafoundation.org. You may enter up to 11 times, each entry must be a different bike rack. The contest runs from 10/1/19 – 10/21/19. For more information and the complete list of contest rules visit our website at www.BryanAreaFoundation.org or call the Foundation at 419-633-1156. Good Luck!
