Tickets are on sale now for the 5th Annual Basin BBQ Blowout. Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased at the Odessa Chamber of Commerce, 700 N. Grant, 2nd floor.
Each Fall, over a hundred local businessmen and women step out of their offices and sally up to the grill. Collars loosened, aprons tightened, they are ready to smoke it out for the title Best BBQ of the Basin.

Meet Hope Bolton, Multi Media Specialist for the CVB!

Originally from Dripping Springs, TX, Southwest of Austin, Hope moved to Odessa last September. She studied PR/Advertising at St. Edward's University in Austin, and her background/work experience is in Marketing for a land management company as well as her family's farm and nationally award winning dairy located in Dripping Springs. Hope is the Multi Media Specialist for the CVB and will be managing and creating all content for the social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. She will also manage the website, assist with advertising and marketing of the CVB and handle all things media related.

Odessa Convention & Visitors Bureau to Host Brazilian Journalist Family
|
The Odessa CVB, with the help of Texas Tourism, will be hosting Brazilian journalists and world travelers, Andre and Ana Straus and their two children, Alex and Alice, on October 1, 2015.
The Straus family produces a weekly YouTube web series, Ases Abordo (Aces Aboard), with the goal of sharing their passion of travel and adventure as well as encouraging families to travel with their children. Along with their web series, the family shares their kid friendly adventures to a worldwide audience on their Facebook and Instagram accounts. The family will be making a trek across Texas and will be arriving in Odessa October 1st and departing October 2nd. The Straus family will be in Odessa to learn about the city's kid friendly attractions and to share that information with their nearly 10,000 diverse followers.

Odessa Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) to Host Texas Travel Industry Association Study Tour
The Odessa CVB, in conjunction with the Texas Travel Industry Association (TTIA), is pleased to announce that they will be hosting representatives from Texas Travel Information Centers, editorial staff from
Texas Highways magazine and counselors from the Texas Department Of Transportation (TxDOT) Travel Information Division headquarters office. The VIP tour event taking place on October 4th in Odessa is part of the West Texas Region TTIA/TxDot Study Tour.
TTIA, the advocate for the travel industry in Texas, along with
Texas Highways magazine editorial staff and photographer and the counselors from the twelve Texas Travel Information Centers, will arrive in Odessa on Sunday, October 4th and depart Monday, October 5th. The tour is designed to give counselors firsthand knowledge of Odessa's tourist facilities and activities. The group will be touring Odessa on Sunday, October 4th and will be visiting The Presidential Museum and George H.W. Bush Home, the Ellen Noel Art Museum, Stonehenge replica, The Globe Theatre, Ector Theatre and White Pool House. On Monday, October 5th, the group will be touring The Parker Ranch House Museum, taking photos with Jack Ben Rabbit and concluding the tour with a visit to the Meteor Crater and Museum.
