Salisburyrotaryclub-smaller-logo
Salisbury Rotary Club got an update from Past Club President, Randy Chapell, on the 7/5 fireworks at Lime Rock Park, noting that it was a great show, enjoyed by those attending and happy to have the event after a year’s absence due to COVID. Next year’s planning will start earlier so as to have more vendors and pre-show activities as in past years.

The 7/6 luncheon speaker was club member and Past President Rick DelPrete, retired Hotchkiss history faculty, coach and Director of Athletics, who spoke about his experiences working for NBC at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Sharing a variety of mementos and NBC-Olympic swag, he relayed interesting stories and incidents from his time there. The first known Olympics were held in 776B.C. at Olympia in southern Greece and were created in honor of ancient Greece’s most famous god, Zeus.
