Join the Tompkins Chamber and Business After Hours co-host Rasa Spa , as we present Spa Day the BAH Way a virtual interactive presentation on the importance of self-care. Led by Rasa Spa staff, learn about stressors and the mental and physical impact of stress, and different methods of stress management including techniques with Massage Therapist Dex White, everyday Rasa Blend aromatherapy Assistant Spa Director and Massage Therapist Cynthia King and at-home facials with Esthetician Ariel Corl.

We'll also do a "Working Together During Stressful Times" activity to explore ways that we can manage stress with the support of those around us. Fire up those grills at home as Wegmans' Chef Mike guides us through preparing a delicious recipe of Grilled Flank Steak over Avocado Salad. For our vegetarian guests, we will also be preparing this with Grilled Portobello mushrooms!

INHS , a local affordable housing organization, launched its COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program in June, is still accepting applications. The program is designed to provide relief up to three months to eligible households who have experienced a loss of income related to the public health crisis. INHS has repurposed approximately $790,000 of existing grant funding for use as rental assistance. This includes: $589,222 from Tompkins County’s CDBG program to serve approximately 150 households.
Odyssey Bookstore starts a new chapter in Downtown Ithaca Odyssey Bookstore, an independent community bookshop, opened on June 23, three months later than initially planned.

Feeling like you need more zen in your life? Join TC for an interactive virtual yoga session by local yoga teacher, Hannah Volpi! Hannah leads an all levels movement class with her goal being to get you comfortable, strong, and aware in your body. Her classes draw from various types of Yoga, and employs principles of Pilates and Functional Movement.

Tompkins Connect will cover the cost of this event and Tompkins Connect members can join for FREE! They'll add a networking component into the class as well.

New York State Covid-19 Updates
NYS Releases Formulas to Determine School Openings/
Closings in Fall

Schools can reopen if a region is in Phase 4 and if the region's daily infection rate remains at or below 5 percent using a 14-day average. Schools will close if the regional infection rate rises above 9 percent, using a 7-day average, after August 1.
New Travel Enforcement Program for Airports
A travel enforcement program will commence tomorrow, July 14th, at airports across the state to ensure travelers follow quarantine protocols. 
Enforcement teams will be stationed at many airports to ensure compliance with the mandatory State Department of Health traveler form, which is being distributed by airlines to passengers flying to New York State. An electronic version of the traveler form is also available. Travelers who fail to provide their contact information will receive a summons with a $2,000 fine.

Please visit the NY Forward website using the links below to find your industry sector guidelines whether you are an Essential Business, Phase 1, 2, 3, or 4 . We continue to watch for new Guidelines and advocate for clarity for those sectors that weren't included in Phase 4: movie theaters, gyms, bowling alleys, and more. We will provide updates when we receive them.

EIDL Updates
On July 11th, the SBA will stopped processing Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) Advance requests since program funds have been fully allocated. By law, the SBA is not permitted to issue new EIDL Advances once all program funding has been obligated.

EIDL loan applications of up to $150,000 continue to be accepted and processed even though the Advance is no longer available. EIDL offers a 3.75% interest rate for small businesses and 2.75% interest rate for non-profits, a 30-year maturity, and an automatic deferment of one year before payments begin.

All eligible small business and non-profits are encouraged to apply for an EIDL.

PPP Updates
On July 6th, the Paycheck Protection Program began accepting new loan applications in response to the Paycheck Protection Program Extension Act. The deadline to apply is now August 8.

Woman-Owned & Economically Disadvantaged Business Certification Process Changes Wednesday
Starting on July 15, the certification process for the Women-Owned Small Businesses and Economically Disadvantaged WOSB federal contracting program will begin to change.

The Ithaca Promise is a message and promise of commitment among the following community partners: The City of Ithaca, The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, Local First Ithaca, and the Downtown Ithaca Alliance.

The Ithaca Promise is more than just following guidance to safely reopen, but a dedicated commitment to the process. Businesses work to ensure they are doing everything they can to conduct business with health and safety of their customers as their primary concern. Customers and the community at large must also follow guidance.

Numerous partners collaborated with Flair Communications to create engaging public service announcement style videos to encourage widespread adoption of and adherence to face-covering culture in Tompkins County. The videos will be be shared across numerous social media platforms, websites, and email marketing campaigns by the partners - and hopefully, the community.

The Tompkins Chamber, Visit Ithaca, Downtown Ithaca Alliance, and Tompkins County Area Development were funding partners for the project, who also had the support and collaboration from the City of Ithaca and Tompkins County Public Health.
