North Island College Strategic Plan 20-25 Survey
North Island College (NIC) is launching a region-wide survey to give the community a voice in determining the College’s priorities and goals over the next five years.

The Strategic Plan 20-25 survey, launched just in time for back to school, they are seeking input from community members, students and employees on NIC’s vision, priorities and goals. Participants will also be able to enter a draw for one of three NIC gift certificates valued at $500, $300 and $200.

Make sure your business is digital ready and visible across key online search engines like Google and TripAdvisor. Comox Valley Economic Development (CVEDS) offers this FREE Google My Business Verification Program to support businesses to help verify/optimize their  Google My Business  listing, which includes a site visit to the business to take 360 degree photos and upload them to the businesses Google My Business Listing.

By verifying and editing this information, businesses can ensure their customers can find them and they can tell the story of the business, thereby increasing awareness of your business services.

North Island College Food Safe
FoodSafe Level 1

Obtain the necessary certification to work in the food service industry. This course covers important food safety and worker safety information including food borne illness, receiving and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning and sanitizing. Certificates will be valid for 5 years from the date of issue. Note: Bring a packed lunch, beverage and government-issued picture ID to class.

North Island College First Aid
Occupational First Aid Level 3

This course meets WorkSafe BC requirements for First Aid Attendants in BC and according to WSBC Regulations Part 3 Guidelines (3.14 - 3.21). The Occupational First Aid Level 3 course is offered with the objective of qualifying candidates for certification as Level 3 First Aid Attendants in industry. Instruction includes: anatomy and physiology; injury and body response; resuscitation- oxygen therapy; wounds and bleeding; thermal, joint, spinal and eye injuries; fractures, bandaging; immobilization; transportation; recording and reporting accidents and injuries.

An NIC waiver form will be required to be filled out at class. Certification is by WSBC and is valid for three years. Renewal course (FAC 032) is also available.
