Spring Quarterly News Update

Dear Business Education Friends,

The familiar sense of renewal and transition that spring brings always excites me; mainly for the upcoming golf weather, but also the extra light in each day for us to enjoy. This spring also marks a time of transition for our business education community as my time serving you in this role comes to an end. However, my commitment to supporting career and technical education (CTE) and #BusEdu is not going anywhere.

Like spring time here in the North, I’m excited for what’s to come with our new leader, Jonathan Walker. Jonathan is a business teacher at St. Louis Community College and we are working together to make the transition as smooth as possible. I have been incredibly fortunate to work alongside such a dedicated and passionate group of CTE and business educators, and I am filled with pride to turn over the reins in the upcoming months.

As we embrace this period of change, I encourage you to help continue fostering the spirit of growth and improvement that is so essential to our business education division. Like spring encourages new beginnings, this transition offers a chance for fresh perspectives and continued progress within our group. I look forward to continuing to serve the next three years as past president of our division with excitement for all that we will achieve moving forward.

Thank you for your dedication and hard work, always.

All the best,

Sean Crevier

VP, ACTE Business Education Division

New Action Brief: AI Overviews

Translating business trends to the classroom: In recent discussions, members of the MBA Research Business Advisory Council (BAC) highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in business and emphasized the necessity of AI literacy in today's workforce.

Our newest Action Brief, "Summing It All Up: The Impact of AI Overviews", focuses on AI summaries and their potential impact on digital marketers and business overall.

Business + education: We recommend pairing this Action Brief with the following performance indicators (PIs) and lesson modules (LAPs):

  • EI:038 Explain ethical considerations in providing information (SP) | LAP-EI-038
  • NF:003 Identify ways that technology impacts business (PQ) | LAP-NF-003
  • PR:299 Discuss the use of search engine optimization tactics for digital marketing (SP) | LAP-PR-299
  • PR:364 Explain the role of business websites in digital marketing (SP)

How to access: We post our newest Action Briefs on our website, while the full archive is available in State’s Connection, organized by trend category.

Game On! Bring Your Business Curriculum to Life

Level up your business curriculum: Our new World of Business course examines the environment and context in which businesses operate. The rigorous, one-semester course utilizes gamification and project-based learning to boost engagement, foster critical thinking, and deepen understanding of real-world business concepts as students learn by doing—and have fun while they’re at it!

Work in progress: Our dedicated advisory committee has been instrumental in shaping the World of Business course, providing invaluable real-world perspectives during its development. This fall, select teachers will be among the first to bring this dynamic curriculum to classrooms across the country.

We want you: Ready to shape the future of business education? We are now recruiting additional educators to pilot this course in the winter and spring of 2026.
