Greetings Business Division Members, | |
Hi, and thank you so much for being an educator. For over a decade, I’ve enjoyed the benefits that ACTE provides its members. As your new Business Education Division Vice President, I am beyond excited to be able to give back to ACTE and you, and I look forward to meeting and getting to know as many of you all as possible over the next three years.
As we look forward to a new school year, which always brings many emotions, I wish you much energy and peace to take into each day. Heading into my 23rd year as a classroom teacher, I’ve learned that as business educators, we often feel isolated and left to do our own things. While that carries some wonderful autonomy, it also leaves us without sounding boards of people who “get” us. In my 5+ years as an instructional coach, I’ve also learned that 1+1=3 when it comes to collaboration and its impact on our student learning. As such, VISION has always been my favorite connection to ACTE, and I hope that you take advantage of the current early bird registration window to give yourself that career booster shot from which we and our students can all benefit.
Being an educator will never be easy, and I believe that’s OK. Being together as educators makes us better at the things that aren’t easy. Whether you’re able to attend VISION or not, I’m thankful for organizations like ACTE that keep us together whether in person or virtually.

Have a great first leg of the school year and I hope to see you soon.
