ALBERTA IS CALLING: MOVING BONUS

The Alberta is Calling: Moving Bonus program can help attract and retain the best talent from across Canada. You can gain a competitive advantage for your organization with an incentive, paid to eligible individuals who move to Alberta.

 

As part of Budget 2024, the Alberta government announced the Alberta is Calling Moving Bonus. The Moving Bonus is a provincial program that offers a one-time $5,000 refundable tax credit to attract eligible individuals to move to Alberta and work in key occupations.

 

To be eligible for this program an individual must move to Alberta between May 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, work in an eligible occupation and reside in Alberta for at least 12 months. RHPAP CONFERENCE

Rural Health Professions Action Plan (RhPAP), in partnership with the Town of Wainwright, will be hosting our biennial Rural Community Health Provider Attraction and Retention (A&R) Conference between October 8-10, 2024.


This provincial conference is an opportunity for rural community A&R committees, as well as interested community members from across Alberta, to come together and share experiences, learn about new initiatives related to the attraction and retention of healthcare providers in rural communities, and network with other rural community members. 


To help make this event a success, we are seeking donations for door prizes and 200 swag items for welcome bags for the attendees. Your generous contribution will not only enhance the experience for our attendees but also highlight the community of Wainwright. Your donation will be recognized during the event, ensuring valuable exposure to a diverse audience of attendees and supporters.

UKRAINIAN TALENT

Are you looking to hire? A new non-profit initiative is seeking to match Ukrainian newcomers with transferrable skills to open positions in rural communities, including Wainwright. Interested employers can complete the intake form at ukralberta.ca or email ukrainianinitiative@aaisa.ca. Housing providers and community groups are also encouraged to submit.


This program is run by Alberta Association of Immigrant Serving Agencies (AAISA) and Calgary Catholic Immigration Services (CCIS).

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT FUND

The Town of Wainwright offers funding to community groups or organizations providing an event or activity that will encourage positive economic activity in the community. Funding is made available annually through the Town of Wainwright’s Economic Development Support Fund Budget.
