2022 - The Year of a Florida Data Privacy Law?

Beginning of January 2022, Senator Bradley introduced the Florida Privacy Protection Act (FPPA) since the one she sponsored last year. Representative McFarland introduced the Consumer Data Privacy bill about a week later.

Although the Florida legislative session has come and gone, Florida should expect a comprehensive data privacy law sooner than later following the steps of California, Colorado and Virginia with full privacy regulations.

for the 12th Annual Intellectual Property Symposium
This year’s IP Symposium will be the first in-person symposium since 2019.
The Symposium will feature two renown keynote speakers. The keynote speaker on Thursday will be Drew Hirshfeld, the Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, who will be giving a fireside chat and will cover topics such as the Trademark Modernization Act. The keynote speaker on Friday will be Dennis Crouch, author of the popular Patently-O blog that is regularly read by most U.S. patent law professionals.
