WHAT'S NEW

STAYCATION IN ORANGEVILLE

Staycations are making a comeback in 2025 and Orangeville is ideally situated to leverage this provincial trend. A recent consumer survey completed by Destination Ontario shows that Ontario residents are planning to travel closer to home this year. Local and regional travel options are top-of-mind for summer getaways and 53% of respondents said that visiting small towns was a favourite activity. This current economic environment presents an opportunity for communities like Orangeville to showcase its small-town charm, lively festivals, and welcoming spirit. Our proximity to the GTA also makes Orangeville a convenient day trip destination and with the beauty of Dufferin County at our doorstep, overnight visits are also expected to increase.

Financial Incentives for your facade

The Town of Orangeville offers eight financial incentive programs through the Community Improvement Plan (CIP). Property and business owners can receive funding to help offset costs for projects that upgrade sites, revive old buildings, reuse spaces, or clean up polluted areas. Bluebird Café and Grill recently received funds through the CIP’s Facade Improvement Grant and invested in beautiful upgrades to their building. See their results in the photo above!

Tourism businesses can now access funding through four streams of Central Counties Tourism’s Partnership Program. New this year is the Small Enterprise Marketing Support Program designed for small businesses looking for support in reaching an audience that is farther than 40 kilometers from where they operate. Successful applicants can receive up to $2,000 in matching funds to support paid marketing programs geared towards growing visitation.
