Santa Ana Hidden Gems Segment
Travel Santa Ana, the city’s official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO), hosted Peter Greenberg from CBS News to highlight a few of Santa Ana’s Hidden Gems to inspire travelers to visit and experience the city’s culture. The Santa Ana segment is scheduled to air within the PBS television series, The Travel Detective, and digitally on Amazon Prime and AppleTV+ in early 2025.

El Pollo Loco
Welcome to the newly improved El Pollo Loco located directly across from the Bowers Museum at the corner of N Main Street and E 20th Street. This El Pollo Loco was the second location to open in the country, in the 1980's.
Unlike other El Pollo Loco locations, which are corporate-owned, this one holds the special distinction of being the only family-owned El Pollo Loco in history. The restaurant carries a unique piece of its past as it was originally branded as “The Crazy Chicken” to test whether the name would resonate more than "El Pollo Loco." A nod to this history can still be seen towards the back of the restaurant, where the original branding remains in place, honoring the legacy that helped shape the brand. The store has recently undergone significant renovations, introducing a new open seating concept for an enhanced dining experience.

The City of Santa Ana’s Economic Development Division is hosting a Business Start-Up Workshop at Santa Ana City Hall on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM in Room 1600.
This workshop is beneficial to anyone interested in starting a new business or expanding an existing one in Santa Ana. You’ll learn about the resources available to help entrepreneurs and have the opportunity to get your questions answered by city staff as you begin your business journey.
