Welcome to the first edition of Deschutes Public Library’s business newsletter. My name is Liisa Sjoblom and I am a Community Librarian who focuses on supporting Central Oregon entrepreneurs with their business research needs.
As our region has grown, so has the business community, with more business start-ups per capita than anywhere else in Oregon. This quarterly newsletter features business resources and services available at your library and beyond. Discover new books and online resources from the library plus other information about library partners and featured websites. If you know of anyone who might be interested, please share and encourage them to subscribe.
Are you starting a business and not sure where to begin? Are you putting together a business plan and need market or industry information? Do you need help figuring out who to talk to about business licensing? Talk with a librarian one-on-one about your business research needs using the Deschutes Public Library’sBook-a-Librarian service.
Through the Book-a-Librarian service, a professional librarian meets with customers for up to 60 minutes either in the library or at the individual’s place of work and assists them with their information needs. We are experts at locating and selecting the most relevant and accurate information from authoritative sources and making expert referrals to business support organizations throughout the area.
Interested customers can call for an appointment at 541-617-7080 or fill out the form online at www.deschuteslibrary.org/ask. (Two to three days advance notice is preferred.)
