COVID-19 Updates
A living wage reflects what earners need to be paid based on the actual costs of living and being included in the community. A living wage is not the same as the legislated minimum wage. It is a voluntary commitment that employers can make to compensate directly employed and contract-employed full-time and part-time workers. The living wage for Durham has been calculated to be $17/hour.
Government of Canada invests $4 million to support over 700 women-led businesses across southern Ontario.
BMO, in collaboration with Deloitte, is pleased to present the BMO Celebrating Women Grant Program.

10 Women Owned Businesses will receive $10,000 in grant money
BMO is a strong supporter of the advancement of women. Since 2012, BMO has recognized the achievements and contributions of over 180 women through the BMO Celebrating Women Program.
Clarington business owners can now apply for grant funding to assist with the costs incurred while adapting and managing the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Township of Brock has set up a $150,000  Emergency Response Benefit  to support local businesses who have seen a 30 per cent reduction in revenue due to COVID-19. The funds will be given out as grants to qualifying local businesses with amounts ranging from $2,500 to a maximum of $3,500. Review Eligibility requirements and Application here
This immersive online workshop program connects businesses with industry experts for guidance, mentorship and practical advice about process modernization and end-to-end digital transformation. It is completely free for businesses and supports firms of any size across Ontario. This program is part of the Toronto Region Board of Trade’s Reimagining Recovery Framework.
Canada United is a movement that brings fellow Canadians together to show their support for local businesses by encouraging the country to shop local and help kickstart our economy.
