Official Plan Update - Notice of Special Council Meeting

TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Petawawa invites all interested persons to attend a Special Meeting of Council for the purpose of discussing the revisions that may be required as part of a proposed update to the Town’s Official Plan, pursuant to the requirements of 26(3)(b) of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, c. P. 13 as amended.

An Official Plan provides direction for the growth and development of the community and where land uses (i.e. residential, commercial, industrial, parks) should be located.

The Special Meeting of Council will take place on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 6:30 pm in the Town of Petawawa Town Hall at 1111 Victoria Street, Petawawa. This meeting will provide an opportunity for the public to speak to revisions that may be required as part of the Town’s Official Plan Review. The intent of this meeting is not to review a Draft Official Plan, which will be prepared and made available for review in the following months but to consider what ought to be reviewed moving forward.

More details on the Official Plan Update process can be found on the municipal website: Official Plan Review Information - The Town of Petawawa

A virtual stakeholder meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 29th. If you wish to be included in this stakeholder session please register by email to: Karen Cronier, Director of Planning and Development.
