Agricultural Workforce Equity and Diversity Initiative (AWEDI) 


The governments of Canada and Ontario are investing up to $1.5 million in the new Agricultural Workforce Equity and Diversity Initiative (AWEDI) to help minority groups start and build businesses in the agri-food sector. Funded through the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP), AWEDI provides grants of up to $100,000 to support business ventures led by primary agricultural producers and food processors who are Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, 2SLGBTQI+ people, persons with disabilities, youth, women or members of French linguistic minority communities.

Taste of the Valley takes place in the Civic Centre parking lot Saturday, September 28th from 10 am - 3 pm. Organizers are expecting large numbers of attendees at this event and in our community.

The annual Upper Ottawa Valley Business Excellence Awards takes place on Saturday, September 28th at the Normandy Officer's Mess. Doors open at 5 pm.

Marketing Workshops in Petawawa


Crummy Media, through Enterprise Renfrew County will host two workshops at the Quality Inn and Suites Petawawa on Friday, October 18th. The workshops are Email Marketing Essentials and AI for Small Business Marketing. The workshops will start at 12:30 pm and end at 4:00 pm. Food catered by J&J Catering.


Following this event you can attend the Fall Fest Market (across the road) where 30+ vendors and Yan Nick Michaud will provide live entertainment. The market is part of the Petawawa Ramble and will be open from 3 pm - 8 pm.
