Petawawa Opens Comfort Station

Along the Algonquin Trail

The Town of Petawawa recently celebrated the grand opening of the new Comfort Station. 


The facility will serve as a visitor information centre along the Algonquin Trail and offer fully accessible washrooms to trail users, residents, and visitors. The Comfort Station is located at 15 Norman Street in the Town of Petawawa and was designed to look like a modern replica of a train station. 


Washrooms will be open daily for the remaining season. Staff for the VIC will be on an event basis and with summer student support in the coming year.


Petawawa Mayor Gary Serviss was joined by members of Council, former Mayor Bob Sweet, MP Cheryl Galland, MPP John Yakabuski, Renfrew County Warden Peter Emon, representatives from Garrison Petawawa Garrison Petawawa, the County of Renfrew, Invest Renfrew County, OVTA, members from the Petawawa Business Advisory Network, Wade Contracting, Jp2G and municipal staff to mark the occasion.

Marketing Workshops in Petawawa


Crummy Media, through Enterprise Renfrew County, will host two workshops at the Quality Inn and Suites Petawawa on Friday, October 18th. The workshops will be on Email Marketing Essentials and AI for Small Business Marketing. The workshops will start at 12:30 pm and end at 4:00 pm. Food is catered by J&J Catering.


Following this event you can attend the Fall Fest Market (across the road) where 30+ vendors and Yan Nick Michaud will entertain. The market is part of the Petawawa Ramble and will be open from 3 pm - 8 pm.

Canada's Inflation Rate Drops to 2.5% in July

The inflation rate in Canada has dropped to 2.5% in July from 2.7% in June. Statistics Canada says prices for travel tours led the deceleration in the all-items Consumer Price Index, falling 2.8% year over year in July. Prices for passenger vehicles fell 1.4% year over year in July, while gasoline prices rose at a faster pace of 1.9%.
