"The chamber has been a great resource and entry point into the business community. As someone who had previously not been a member of a chamber, Raj and the CMC staff have been great at helping me navigate and make the most of this partnership, which is what it truly feels like, a partnership. Whether through the events or helping to make connections with others in the chamber community, the CMC has proven to be an invaluable resource."

Economic Activity Measure for Maryland Counties Now Available
The  U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis  has released economic activity data for every county in the nation for the first time.

The gross domestic product (GDP) data represents the years 2012-2015 and measures the market value of goods and services produced in each county. The Bureau has previously compiled data for states and major metropolitan areas and is now diving deeper to examine regional economic conditions throughout the states.

When measuring Maryland by GDP, Montgomery County makes up 25% of the state’s total with more than $91.7 billion. In addition, Montgomery County ranks as the 31st largest GDP among all the counties in the nation. Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, and Prince George’s County round out the largest economies in the state.

Annual GDP growth shows that Washington County experienced the largest growth, with Somerset, Frederick, and Talbot Counties also posting strong gains within the four-year timeframe.

If any one of the three county school systems (Anne Arundel, Howard, Prince George’s) closes due to inclement weather, all chamber activities for the day will be cancelled.

If any one of the three county school systems has a 2 hour delay, all chamber activities prior to noon will be cancelled.

If any one of the three county school systems closes early due to weather, all chamber evening activities will be cancelled.
